  PURA DEFENSE

VOC 800; USDA C1; Greenline; 1,1,1 Replacement

Pura Defense is an environmentally safe, non-toxic, 1,1,1 Trichloroethane replacement. Ozone friendly replacement for chlorinated solvents. Evaporates to dryness without leaving a residue. Spray or wipe on or use as a dip or parts washer application.  Requires a solvent resistant trigger (bulk).

Pura Defense is a solvent cleaner and degreaser utilizing a blend of high purity aliphatic hydrocarbons and high purity orange terpenes.  Meets all restrictions of the nuclear industry on total halogens, halides, sulfur, heavy metals, etc.  Due to its high flash point, Pura Defense is not considered a hazardous waste according to RCRA guidelines.

Pura Defense has passed both CSD-1 and ARP-1755-B tests.  The CSD (Customer Service Document) test is a standardized test procedure for qualifying aircraft maintenance materials throughout the aircraft industry.  The CSD-1 test was developed by Douglas Aircraft in collaboration with other major commercial aircraft manufacturers.   The CSD-1 involves testing the effect of the product on acrylic plastic, immersion corrosion tests, cadmium removal test and hydrogen embrittlement test.  Pura Defense was found to pass all of these tests.

The second series of tests run is ARP-1755-B.  ARP stands for Aerospace Recommended Practice.  The purpose of the test is to determine the effect of cleaning agents on aircraft engine materials.  The evaluation of this test is conducted on representative engine materials by determination of weight loss during total immersion in the cleaning solution being tested.  Among the metals being tested are aluminum, magnesium, copper, nickel, bronze, titanium, carbon steel, cobalt, corrosion-resistant steel and their various alloys.

Undiluted, Pura Defense may be applied by spraying, wiping or dipping.  Wipe dry or use high pressure air after cleaning or degreasing.  No rinse is required.
