PT-FUEL OIL - POSSIBLE RESULTS AFTER APPLICATION

Initially, filters may clog more frequently than normal while our fuel catalyst (fuel additive) PT-Fuel Oil breaks up the sludge mass in the storage tank and equipment.

After several days this filter cleaning should begin to decrease and eventually be reduced to a longer cleaning cycle .

Continued dissolution of sludge by PT-Fuel Oil will eventually allow strainers and filters to be cleaned less than once or twice per week. The quality of the fuel oil will determine the filter cleaning frequency.

The initial indication of better boiler operation will be the appearance of a brighter, more compact, yellow-white flame, with clean bright sparklers, all within the combustion chamber. Within one week , a continuous check of the stack gas discharges may warrant a decrease in excess air to eliminate waste heat losses through the stack discharge. The "white" smoke issuing from the exhaust stack would indicate a high excess air rate. Lowering the excess air until the stack discharge turns a slight tan, should allow the plant to run at maximum efficiency.

A more complete combustion in the chamber increases the formation of CO2 and decreases the amount of CO. The eventual elimination of soot decreases the formation of SO3 from SO2 because the V2 O5 has nowhere to deposit itself and cannot act as the catalyst to convert SO2 to SO3.

The eventual elimination of all soot prevents the formation of H2 SO4 or H2 SO3 via the catalytic effect of V2 O5 on the SO2 to convert it to SO3 which would combine with condensing water to form the highly corrosive acids H2 SO3 and H2 SO4.

Continued running with PT-Fuel Oil removes existing soot buildup on boiler surfaces providing for accelerated heat transfer through furnace walls, tube pre-heaters, economizers and super-heaters. This higher heat transfer rate reduces heat lost in the stack gas discharge.

Daily determination of SPR (Steam Production Ratio or pound of steam produced per gallon of fuel oil consumed) indicates the increase in boiler efficiency when PT-Fuel Oil is used, compared to a similar period when PT-Fuel Oil was not used.

The resulting boiler efficiency will depend on the type of boiler, mode of operation, quality of fuel oils and other non-controllable factors, however, all PT-Fuel Oil users see a substantial decrease in annual fuel consumption.
