Each application of ProTecs fuel catalyst brings an improvement in performance of the vehicle, the ship or facility equipment not heretofore seen. The complex molecular structure of our fuel catalysts (fuel additives), improves fuel combustion to a point where no unburned residues remain in the combustion chamber. The only way to keep the efficiency of an engine at its best, and dramatically reduce air pollution is to burn a clean fuel (upgraded). PT-Fuel Oil cleans and stabilizes the fuel by dropping out the heavy ends, a primary source and cause of engine efficiency problems. Decreased efficiency of a mechanically sound engine, whatever its make or age, comes from the fuel. Within a relatively short period of time, the use of poor quality fuel greatly affects its ability to produce the output for which it has been engineered. A fuel of poor quality does not burn completely in the combustion chamber and forms hard carbon deposits that accumulate rapidly. These deposits scratch pistons and cylinder walls, which can lead to a loss of compression. Another source of problems comes from algaes that clog fuel lines and injectors. Filters and the exhaust system are also affected by the accumulation of tars and soot. PT-Fuel Oil restores the efficiency of an engine that has lost power due to the above problems by dissolving hard carbon deposits and keeping fuel lines, injectors, filters and the exhaust system clean. Sulfur Beneficial effects in reducing vanadium contents and other contaminants using PT-Fuel Oil: The corrosive effect of the sulfur content of the fuel on the furnace, exhaust, building infrastructures and vegetation are devastating and has been the subject of many published articles. The principal cause of corrosion in the cooler areas, such as economizers, pre-heaters and flue gas ducts, is SO3 in the flue gas produced by oxidation of SO2. In separating and dropping out Vanadium, water and other impurities, PT-Fuel Oil, effectively negates V2O5 formed by the Vanadium compounds present in the fuel oil. (V2O5 is a catalyst in the SO2 – SO3 –H2SO4 progression when SO3 comes in contact with moisture). The elimination of soot deposit buildups on interior of fireside surfaces of the boiler provides a very efficient transfer of heat that results in a greatly lowered stack temperature (similar for carbon deposits in engines). In the absence of internal buildups, any vanadium still present in the fuel oil has no place to deposit. This therefore avoids the formation of V2O5 (vanadium Pentoxide), preventing the catalytic formation of SO3, the major contributing factor for acid rain. Slagging and corrosion are also reduced by the promotion of more complete burning and consequent calcination of the ash components. With PT-Fuel Oil, more complete combustion occurs, unburned tars, which act as binding agents, are eliminated. It has been suggested that one of the factors that contributes to rapid deterioration of boiler tubes and other types of exhausts, is the alloying of tube metal with one or more of the products of incomplete combustion. A surface layer of affected metal is formed which bonds with the slag and breaks away from the tube when the slag is removed. Thus, with each cleaning, the tube becomes thinner. The use of PT-Fuel Oil, besides lessening the actual formation of slag, prevents this alloying effect so that tube surfaces remain after long, continuous operation.
