Technopacific is the distributor of Protec's products in Chile. Our first product imported and distributed was Longa-Batt.

Our first experience took place before importing the product. We took several old sulphated batteries and cut the top off to access the plates. We removed the highly sulfated plates out of the battery casing and placed them into a large plastic container with distilled water and 3 oz of Longa-Batt. Over the next several hours we watched as the sulfation dissolved. Excited about this experiment we began ordering the chemical into Chile.

Technopacific sells Longa-Batt to large automobile battery reconditioners to restore discarded batteries. Car dealers, fleet owners and the retail industry have all used Longa-Batt in Chile. Each of these operations has found that Long-Batt has a high success rate in restoring old batteries and in prolonging the life of new ones.

I am a person that advertising cannot trick easily, because I must "see" for myself that something works before I believe it.

The 28^th of January this year I was offered by Oyvind Heimsgaard to test PROBAT in one of my own car batteries. Selected was a 60 amperes VARTA battery from 1986. Cheap batteries (+-300/ - Nkr) last for 2-3 years while a quality battery, the type for the test, "last" 6-8 years. I express discretely that "last" means its ability to hold its power.

The battery that was tested has been totally discharged several times, but it has always had a little power, enough to start a car right after being charged. In my opinion this is a "damaged" battery.

The battery was filled up with PROBAT and thereafter charged. After charged it was installed in my car and the starter pulled willingly the engine to start. Unbelievable, the battery was again powerful. It had regained the "kick" and in following days it continued to improve. My car is an older type Volvo, with a large stereo system and I use lights and the electric heater very actively, there is also a lot of short drives, something that is not in favor of the charge and the battery. Especially in a cold and humid coastal climate, but it works continuously.

My opinion is that PROBAT absolutely functions to clean and rejuvenate a bad battery. I am not a green freak, but man need to look at this as environmental points to delay replacement of batteries, believable with several years. A car battery with its content like lead is an environmental threat.

PROBAT is really a wonder product.

Hello! My name is Greg Woolverton and I just want to mention that I have tried ProTec's Longa-Batt (ProBat) Battery life Extender with great results, even though I didn't follow the recommended procedures. I have a 24-volt, 3600 lbs. bank of 36/2 volt flooded lead acid batteries wired in parallel configuration. I had purchased these deep cycle storage batteries for a Hybrid/ Photovoltaic Solar System from a solar distributor. I wasn't given full support in regards to information regarding recommended equalization and charge parameters. They had been undercharged for a period of 2 years and consequently, as I learned about battery maintenance, the batteries suffered. I knew somehow that these batteries weren't performing as they should have and therefore wanted to protect them.

I found on the Internet an ad for Longa-Batt sulphation remover. I thought why not. After talking with Robert at ProTec International I was convinced that this product would work. I was assured by Robert that Longa-Batt is a "Unique formulation" that would really help to remove the deadly buildup of hard sulphate crystals from my battery plates and restore, to normal or above normal, the electrolytic operation of my batteries. Well I ended up buying, or at least paying for 2-1/2US.Gallons of the product. I only needed 2-1/2 gallons for the size of bank I intended to dose But Robert at ProTec sent me 5 gallons to try. He said I could pay for my 2-1/2 gallons with the extra product he had provided. This was how sure of the product he was. After receiving the 5 gallon container I immediately drove home and excitedly started to dose my bank with the recommended amount of Longa-Batt. In my excitement I unfortunately didn't follow the
instructions I was given regarding the charge rate of 2-3 amps and proceeded to charge my bank at approximately 70 amps( Even though my Trace DR 2500 series inverter would have allowed me to follow Robert's advice.) At any rate my batteries did reach a higher state of charge than ever before and have continued to do so ever since. I am now routinely able to reach 28.8 volts on charge and 30.00 volts on equalize (which I wasn't before the addition of Longa-Batt). I'm also amazed that my batteries don't to need as much watering as they had before their treatment. They don't produce the large gas bubbles anymore, but produce more tiny bubbles. My battery enclosure, which is vented shows much less sign of gassing. They also don't require as long on charge to reach these rates and keep their charge longer. I can see immense potential in this product and highly recommend it. Greg.

I am a graduate electronics engineer and with my uncle run a small garage in India. Quite often we get complaints about low life of battery used on cars (1~2 years ).On researching on the net about this problem, I ran across your ProBat product and your method to recondition used batteries . I see a huge prospect for this business in India if it can demonstrate whatever is claimed. Customers are hard nosed and like to see substantial improvement in life of battery. Nobody is interested to shell out any money for 5~10 percent increase. So if the product is really as good as it is claimed on the web, I would be interested to recondition batteries. I want to thank you for the start-up package. We started reconditioning 60 old batteries that had been dumped in the corner of our yard and probably abused. We had very little expectations to get good results as in the manual it is advised to recondition freshly discarded batteries, but we wanted to see ourselves to which extent Probat and Procharge would be effective. We have checked all of them with your autotest electrics analyzer and found that 45% were very sulphated but still in working conditions the rest had short cells. We were expecting to get only 20% back to life, but to our amazement we have been able to revive 40% with good capacity (between 75 and 90%). This encouraged us to set a shop and now we are following the method and your advice. Last month so far we have reconditioned more than 600 batteries and our business is doing quite well. I have attached our second order of Probat and 4 additional Procharge to increase production to 60 batteries per day.

My business is growing faster now that I have acquired a good knowledge on batteries, particularly on how to select them. The special tester helped me quite a bit to make the selection process more efficient. I never imagined that my wife would help me in this business, but here she is taking care of the phone and calling clients. I believe that she joined me because I have been following your advice to set a clean and organized workplace. Everything is clean in our workshop from where we started last year. We are reconditioning 25 batteries per day. It takes me 2 hours to collect 40 batteries, 1 hour to go through the selection process, 30 minutes to add ProBat, 30 minutes to connect them and then ProCharge does the job automatically. My delivery route lasts less than 2 hours. We have a pretty good routine now and will be able to sell your new batteries with the 5-year warranty in our region. "I have been involved for over 6 months with both New Battery Product and the Reconditioning of batteries with one of Battery Doctors dealerships in Melbourne. After some initial hiccups with the learning of the best practices for the reconditioning of batteries, I have found the product ProBat (Longa-Batt) to be nothing short of the single most important tool in the process.

There are people in the market place claiming to recondition batteries. To a point their claims are true. However without the product ProBat they have no cure for what initially caused the premature death of the battery. Flushing, adding new eclectrolyte and recharging only temporarily removes the problem of sulphation. This is why these companies only offer warranties of no more than three months. It has been my experience, that with the addition of ProBat to a mechanically sound battery that not only is the sulphation removed, it also does not return. Allowing the batteries to not only accept a full charge but also hold it. Making them once again a viable power source for all sorts of applications. This can allow Battery Doctors dealers to give a warranty better than some of the new battery warranties currently in the market place.

I have also applied ProBat to many batteries in heavy industry and farming applications where there have been problems with the battery holding charge only to find that the battery was still mechanically sound and that after Longa-Batt was added that the battery returned to as new and is still running. I have also used it in Classic Cars where the car spends long periods of time in a garage without being started. Without applied the starting of these type of cars was a problem due to sulphation of the battery. After the adding of applied the sulphation problem disappeared.

In conclusion I would like to say that once you become fully conversant with the internal workings of the battery and once you have been trained in the correct application of the ProBat product, you will not only find it is everything it is written to be, it is more. So why not let ProBat put your business above the apposition and give you the competitive edge."

My name is Kyle Hadland and admittedly I consider myself to be a "petrol head"….in other words, I love cars and everything about them.

In my car, I have a very expensive stereo system that drains a lot of power and particularly causes a lot of damage to the battery. My batteries don't last as long as they should. I have volt/amp meters in the car and each time I start the car the needle on the meter slowly goes up to the correct voltage. Then when I turn the stereo on, the meter drops to way below the normal voltage.

Also I get a lot of build up of the white sulphation on the battery terminals which I have to keep cleaning off. About 2 months ago, my girlfriend's father gave me some ProBat to put in the battery and also some ProBat Terminal Protector.

I'm one of the biggest skeptics around but I thought "oh well, it's free, I'll do it to please him".

About a week after treating the battery with the ProBat, I realised that the voltmeter was reaching the correct voltage immediately after turning the car on, then after turning on the stereo, the voltmeter hardly moved. I had not done anything to the car, the electrical system or the battery except for treating it with ProBat. I can only say that the battery is keeping its charge, there has not been any sulphation on the terminals and that ProBat is doing what it claims to do.

When I ever need to get a new battery, it will definitely be a battery treated with " ProBat "

I would like to take this opportunity to explain the benefits I have found with Longa-Batt (ProBat) since December 1998. I have been involved in the automotive and industrial battery industry for the past 19 years as follows:

* Besco Batteries Australia, Manager for Northern Regional Sales (Muswellbrook) and manufacture of automotive storage batteries
* Century Batteries, Manufacture and technical support
* Atlas Batteries, Newcastle

Unfortunately battery life over the last 10 years has deteriorated from batteries that would last 5 or more years to batteries that now last 2 to 3 years. Other battery manufacturers will explain that the reason today’s batteries don’t last as long is due to the advancements in automobile technology i.e.; computers, power windows etc., and the increase in under bonnet temperatures. This creates accelerated sulphation rates in lead-acid batteries.

This made me research what alternatives might be available to increase battery life as well as restore what would be classed as a dead battery as reconditioning batteries is part of my business. After investigations of various technologies such as pulse technology to restore batteries I have found only one technology that actually does what it claims – Longa-Batt. After researching this product I was so impressed with this opportunity I traveled almost a 1000 kilometers to be involved with this product. I have listed below in point form just some of the many benefits this product has provided.
* Initial trial: Treated one cell of a new partly sulphated Apollo battery and placed on charge for an hour. After 30 minutes seventy percent of sulphation was returned back to paste form. 30 minutes later all sulphation within this cell had dissipated.

* Trial two: Mechanically sound battery with low starting power, treated each cell as per recommended dose (eg: 16 ml per cell) charged for 24 hours. Noticed battery temperature was decreased by 85%. Allowed to stand for 3 hours, as a warm battery will give inaccurate readings. Battery had recovered 98% of original power e.g.: voltage, and 100% of CCA (cold cranking amperage)

* Trail three: Ford Falcon 1996 model. Excessive electrolyte usage. Treated battery with Longa-Batt, testing in intervals of one month. Customer complained battery was initially using 20 – 30 mls of water per cell per month. Since the application of Longa-batt no electrolyte loss in 5-month period has been noticed, no corrosive build up on battery terminals or battery tray. Which is basically created by hydrogen and sulphuric gas escaping through vent holes, due to excessively high under bonnet temperatures. Customer extremely satisfied and has since purchased four more batteries treated with Long-batt.

* Trial four: Cycling (discharge and recharge of battery before failure occurs at room temperature). Two new batteries, Apollo brand. One treated, one not treated with Longa-Batt. Untreated battery failed after 60 cycles and would not start a vehicle. Test on Long-Batt terminated after one hundred and twenty cycles, starting 6 cyl Nissan Skyline Silhoette. This battery is still in vehicle.

* Trial five: During examination of dead batteries that had been discarded as unusable I discovered a battery that was only 14 months old, holding only 1.6 volts. Upon inspection the battery was heavily sulphated however all plates within the battery were intact. Longa-Batt was added to this battery and placed on charge, within 3-4 hours the battery had recovered to holding 9 volts. The battery was left on charge for a total of 24 hours then left to stand for 2 days and then tested again using a smart tester, which places a load on the battery. The battery had returned to 98% of its original capacity for both voltage and amperage. This battery has since been sold and fitted to a 1986 Laser Ghia and has been in the vehicle now for over 4 months with no sign of problems. Without the addition of Longa-Batt this battery would have been discarded and thus created a disposal and environmental issue.

* Trial six: Barry Smith a good customer was in need of a battery to use for deep cycle purpose running lights, fridge and television in a caravan. This battery was obtained from the customer who had been told by another Battery Company that the battery was unserviceable and that they needed a new battery. Mr Smith knowing of my involvement with Long-batt, asked if the battery could be recovered. Explained to Mr Smith several reasons may stop product from performing accordingly e.g.; broken plates, cracked casing or excessive age. This battery was 3 years old, we treated each cell with 21 mls of Longa-Batt and placed on slow charge for 48 hours (due to construction of this type of battery a slower charging over a longer period is required). Battery was then let to stand and tested as per new. Battery is still in operation in caravan at this time. The battery has also been used to start a 4WD and then placed back into caravan with no effect.

The implications of environmental damage caused by discarding batteries prematurely in my opinion is irresponsible. With the application of Longa-batt in mechanically sound used batteries and new batteries can dramatically reduce the quantities of batteries disposed each year throughout Australia and the world.

I look forward to talking with you soon and commend you for your efforts in providing products that are both economical and environmentally friendly that provide customers with alternatives that were previously not available.
